Diversify Your Weekend Routine
Article submitted by Christina Johnson
People in their 20’s and 30’s constitute a diverse group of individuals. Many are married, often with children. Others are single and most are building their careers. This age group is beyond teenage pranks, but are still active and seek activities with others in their age group. The usual offerings are available such as bars or parties, but many begin to seek other activities, either something totally new or twists on things they already enjoy.
Pampered Pet
People of all ages can bond with a pet such as a dog or cat., but it is especially nice, if you live by your self or are just looking to start a life with a significant other. Make pets the focus of a weekend activity. Plan an afternoon of pet pampering. This works well if all the animals are the same species such as all dogs or cats, but, with careful planning, a mixed pet situation can work. The afternoon could include a play time for the pets and creating all-natural pet treats in the kitchen. Reserve time at the groomers for a pet update and show off the pets.
Surprise Make Over
There is nothing more fun than a makeover. If a friend just moved or needs a serious house or apartment update, get together as a group of friends to give the place a makeover. Ask how the person or persons living in the place would want it to look and work together to clean, paint and make minor repairs. Change up the color scheme and add new rugs, cushions and curtains. Finish up with a pizza party.
A twist on the makeover idea is to make it personal. Maybe a friend got a new job, a promotion or has recently gotten engaged. Plan a weekend to assist the friend in a makeover. This might include a trip to a salon or spa for an update on make up and hairstyle. It might include a shopping trip for an updated outfit or two--maybe as a gift to a reluctant friend or one whose budget is stretched tight. End the evening with a nice dinner out together.
Meal Planning Fun
Most people often find themselves making balanced meals for home tedious and, while they'd rather eat out, know that doing so all the time isn't healthy physically or economically. Yet, it isn't fun to prepare portions for only one. As for young mothers, they are too exhausted from work and caring for children to even think of food preparation. Get together, choose a menu, and prepare meals for the next week for each household. Cooking in bulk saves money, gives a chance to get together and helps you all eat in a healthier manner. Make meals that can be frozen. Meal preparation means popping it into the oven and onto the plate.
